Painter, street artist and specialist in large scale installations of mixed media – from France but lives in Kathmandu/Nepal & Casablanca/Morocco.
For four years he has been working with the Arabic letter. Its curves, its accents are features he enjoys exploring in every little upstroke and down stroke. The lettering is hostage to his works, playing with their forms regardless of their meaning.
Coming from graffiti and street art, Yann slowly swapped his aerosols for knives and acrylic, and explores using the Arabic lettering Qalam – the reed sharpened into a point -traditionally used in Persian calligraphy.
He regularly exhibits his paintings in Morocco, mainly in Casablanca and Marrakech.
